Arthur Rosch was raised in the suburbs of St. Louis. After graduating high school he made a brief stab at college in Cleveland and Detroit. The music scene in Detroit was more compelling than school. He spent the next decade working as a jazz drummer and photographer. Writing had always part of his creative life. He began exploring the novel form in the late seventies and wrote his first novel around '77. It was terrible.
In 1969 Art moved to the San Francisco area. His first literary sale was to Playboy Magazine. The story won "Best Story Of the Year". Art enjoyed fifteen minutes of fame. Since then he's been doing what most writers do: honing his craft. He's published in EXQUISITE CORPSE, TRUCKIN', SHUTTERBUG, POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY and, yes, CAT FANCY. He is currently a contributor to the online magazine ACROSS THE MARGIN. He loves science fiction and fantasy and much of his writing is inspired by the work of Philip K. Dick and Jack Vance.
