Charlie Birmingham is an entrepreneur who divides his time between the coasts of Southern California and Normandy, France, a stone’s throw from the once blood-soaked D-Day invasion beaches of June 6, 1944.
He is the Chairman of D-Day 2044, an international organization whose mission is to engage high school students across America to ensure that our next generation of leaders does not forget June 6, 1944 -- one of the greatest achievements in world history.
He cut his eye teeth on historical fiction in grade school as a devotee of the We Were There series of short novels, graduating later to a group at the pinnacle of the art form -- George MacDonald Frazier, Bernard Cornwell, Robert Harris, Philip Kerr and M.M. Kaye.
Charlie hopes to measure up one day to their high standards.
