Dana K. Haffar was born and raised in Beirut. During the Lebanese War, she obtained a BA in English Literature from the American University of Beirut and an MLitt in English Literature from Oxford University, UK. Since, she has led a peripatetic existence. She has lived in Greece, Spain, England and South Africa.
Out of a love for books and languages, she chose a career in writing and editing. She has worked on coffee-table and travel books in English and French, and co-edited Lebanon: A History of Conflict and Consensus (IB Tauris, 1988).
She is a freelance editor and copywriter, and author of Women's Contemporary Fiction. She has written three novels. BEIRUT IN SHADES OF GREY (Ameera Publishing, 2007) was described by Publishers Weekly as "a vivid portrait of a country in turmoil." LEAH is a "well-crafted story told by a writer who deserves greater recognition and applause." (Amazon Vine Voice). Alternating between 1986 Mougins and WWII Paris, her latest work, THE MEMORY OF LOSS - a KINDLE SCOUT WINNER - explores resilience in the face of adversity, loneliness and heartbreak, and the consequences of living in denial: "a masterful exploration of human nature and personal loss."
