David M. Schneer, co-founder and CEO of Merrill Research, is a pioneer in con-sumer behavior analysis. Since co-founding Merrill Research in 1986, David has been at the forefront of guiding companies through the intricacies of new product devel-opment and market positioning. Leveraging several research methodologies, includ-ing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-mode approaches, David empowers clients to hone their strategic communications strategies and gauge new product feasibility.
As a behavioral scientist and nonverbal intelligence expert, David possesses a unique ability to decode the unspoken cues that underpin consumer decision-making processes. Through his qualitative research studies, David has engaged with individu-als worldwide, uncovering the subtle contradictions between verbal assertions and nonverbal expressions. This keen insight also led to the establishment of The Merrill Institute for Nonverbal Intelligence, where David shares his expertise through corpo-rate workshops.
In addition to his role at Merrill Research, David serves as a Senior Research Advi-sor at The Chasm Group, where he provides recommendations for the consultancy’s research initiatives. He is also an early sponsor of BOSS Academy, an entrepreneurial “Think Tank” dedicated to fostering collaboration and growth among purpose-driven leaders. With a career spanning over three decades, David continues to shape the landscape of qualitative research by incorporating not only body language into quali-tative research but also the use of AI to back him up. This produces highly accurate gauge of what research participants are truly saying. There is no other company that offers this unique blend of skills in qualitative research. David earned a bachelor’s de-gree in Journalism and Political Science from San Diego State University and a mas-ter’s degree in Modern American Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. He also earned a PhD in Religious Studies from the Trinity Seminary and Trinity College of the Bible.
