With more than 40 years of experience in journalism, media, and education, I am a passionate and versatile Adjunct Professor at Miami Dade and Broward Colleges and Barry University, where I teach courses on communications theory, media law, radio and TV reporting, and speech.
I am also a Senior Partner at a media consulting firm, providing strategic guidance and editorial support to clients in various sectors.
I have a Doctor of Education degree from St. Thomas University and two Master, one in Journalism/ Broadcasting and another in Digital Media.
I have published sixteen books on media and Digital Humanities. I have also received multiple awards and honors for my journalist, producer, and correspondent work, including the First National Prize in TV Reporting and the National Vanguard of the Culture and Art Workers.
My core competencies include editorial, communications strategy, community relations, and media literacy. I am driven by a mission to educate, inform, and empower people through media and communication, and I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the academic and professional fields.
I'm also on the Board of Journalism non-profit organizations like the Florida Association of Hispanic Journalists and the International Press Club of Miami.
I am a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Interamerican Press Association, the National Association of Scholars, the National Catholic Educational Association, and the Latin American Studies Association, among others.
