A former newspaper journalist and columnist, I have written more than 170 books in the YA nonfiction genre. I have also served as associate editor and co-author of a book on the childhoods of the presidents and co-author of a book on the literary life of Rome. My novels include the political farce Painting the White House and the surreal My Life With Wings. I have also served as general editor of the anthology Ole!, a book about bullfighting in the 21st century. I have written book reviews for Kirkus, tackled occasional ghostwriting assignments and have condensed books on business and management for EBSCO.
