Helena P. Schrader is the author of more than two dozen fiction and non-fiction books and winner of multiple literary awards. She is a retired Foreign Service Officer, who served in Europe and Africa. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Hamburg, which she earned with a ground-breaking dissertation on a leading member of the German Resistance to Hitler. Her non-fiction works include Codename Valkyrie, The Blockade Breakers, Sisters in Arms, and the Holy Land in the Era of the Crusades. Her awards include the Hemingway Award for 20th Century Wartime Fiction 2022, the Feathered Quill Book Award for Best Historical Fiction 2020, and the Book Excellence Award for the Best Biography 2017.
