The “Perfect Season” Miami Dolphins selected Ed out of Duke University in the sixth round of the 1973 NFL draft. Ed played twelve seasons for Coach Don Shula and participated in one winning Super Bowl and two American Conference championships. The four-time All-Pro reluctantly broke from the Dolphins after a knee injury. The team honored him as one of the “Top 50” players within the first fifty years of the franchise.
Ed served as a civil litigator from 1987 to 1994. After a successful election campaign, he was commissioned as a County Court Judge in and for Miami-Dade, where he presided for twenty-eight years.
Holly Newman Greenberg:
Holly was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where at a young age, she became a Miami Dolphins fan simply because it was “her father’s team.” After graduating from Miami Killian Senior High School, Holly followed in her father and grandfather’s footsteps by attending Duke University. She graduated in 2004 with a bachelor of arts in psychology, along with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. Holly earned a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Teachers College of Columbia University and used her creden- tials to shape the culture of numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Following the birth of her children, Holly shifted her focus from corporate America to her family, where she fulfilled her dream of memorializing her father’s story.
