Iasia holds a master’s degree in Human Services, Marriage and Family Counseling, a credentialed Minister of 12 years, spiritual teacher, writer, mentor, and motivational lecturer. Born in 1979 South Jamaica Queens, New York and relocating to the Bronx in the early 1990’s, Iasia grew up in an era where times were hard, yet families got together for spades and fried chicken in neighborhoods bubbling with manhunt games, girls jumping double Dutch in streets bursting with energy and hip-hop culture. She is a single mother molded by the streets, academia, and eastern philosophy. As a poet, avid journaler, and spoken word performer, Iasia has professed that writing saved her life.
