Hi, I’m James Bright. I’m an author and homesteader passionate about environmental stewardship, self-sufficiency, and living off the land.
My success was limited when I started a garden 15 years ago, until I learned about soil science and stewardship. Then, my garden became a high-yielding beauty.
Next, I learned about organic animal husbandry, pasturing and free ranging, and creating closed-loop permaculture systems. I currently raise chickens, dairy goats and rabbits on my homestead.
I’ve experimented with many off-grid projects – the majority of them low cost. I’m saving for a renewable energy system which will make my homestead completely off-grid.
In my writing style, I’m skilled at taking complex topics and making them easy to understand and apply in the real world, without dumbing the information down.
In 2022, I wrote my first book titled, “Vegetable Garden Soil Science Made Easy: Create a Soil Base for Abundant Harvests in Your Raised Bed, Container or No-Dig Garden”. I’m currently working on my second book. My goal is to become a full-time author and homesteader, so I can teach others about my passions and leave the day job behind.
