Jen Sinclair writes contemporary fiction that explores complicated relationships, love, loss, and all the messiness of life. She uses humor, heart, and compelling plot elements to explore what it means to be human. Her stories often follow women who must fight to overcome tragic circumstances or loss (of others or of self) to discover what they want. Readers of both her essays and fiction applaud her mix of humor and grace to portray the difficult parts of life in a way that leaves them hopeful.
After spending 15 years in the legal field as a secretary and paralegal, Jen spent six years building SEO content for businesses and writing legal blogs on various elements of the law for firms and HOAs across the country. However, over the past two years, Jen has shifted focus to building her personal writing career where she has met with success, having several essays published by sites such as Scary Mommy and Insider.
Armed with some courage and the support of her family, local Writer Hikers, and fellow Write InMates, Jen is (finally) ready to take the next step in her writing journey this fall when she publishes her debut novel, There’s Always a Price.
Jen lives in Saint Augustine, Florida, with her husband, kids, and spoiled puppy. When she isn’t working out story elements, belting out songs from one of her many Spotify playlists, or having conversations with imaginary friends, Jen enjoys spending time outside, paddling waterways, walking on beaches and trails, or driving around with the top off her Jeep.
