He read African History at SOAS (University of London) and at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; Postgraduate work at St. Edmund Hall (University of Oxford) and Nova University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He has served as Secretary-General of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, is a Magistrate, Church Organist, and Local Preacher in the Methodist Church.
