J. D. Henington was born in Wollongong on the eastern coastline of Australia. As a young man he was a professional football player, and a lifeguard. With formal qualifications in commerce, he was a successful businessman with extensive experience in a diverse corporate background, including heavy manufacturing, mining, and non-government organisations. Now retired, being an amateur author having written fourteen stories, he has recently taken his love of writing to another level. He and his wife have travelled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. They currently reside in the bushland above his hometown of Wollongong.
