Kamesh Ramakrishna grew up in Bombay (now Mumbai) and completed his undergraduate studies at IIT-Kanpur. He went on to obtain a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, specialising in Artificial Intelligence. In his professional life he has been: a professor; a software engineer; an inventor with some patents; software architect for some foundational products; Chief Technology Officer for a startup; in recent years, a consulting software architect.
For many years Kamesh has followed advances in a variety of sciences, both physical and social. His areas of interest have included: Anthropology, Archaeology, Human pre-history & History, Philosophy of Science, Cultures & Civilisations, and Religion. He has also been an avid reader of fiction, largely pseudo-history, science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, mythology, legends and folk-tales.
His first novel, The Last Kaurava, brings together these two sets of interests.
Kamesh lives with his family in Massachusetts.
