Karen Milioto was born and raised in Wayland, Massachusetts. She attended Northeastern University in Boston. After her so so performance in the land of academia she found her niche as a cocktail waitress in the Back Bay. When her customer-turned-boyfriend, Brad, was transferred to Louisiana for work she decided that, though she could not locate the state of Louisiana on a map, it seemed like a solid life choice to follow him there.
Now married, Karen and Brad still reside in Louisiana and together they are raising a smart, tenacious and somewhat hard-headed four year old daughter named Ruth.
The Milioto's cohabitate with two horses, two dogs, two cats and an ornery goose named Lucy on a small farm north of Baton Rouge. Karen is a mediocre gardener with a soft spot for her temperamental little plot. She hates math, loses her keys at least three times a day and her favorite outfits always involve mud boots. She thinks the Bible is the most compelling book ever written and will never be done reading it.
