San Diego, California  resident M. P. Zarrella began writing after a successful corporate career in Information Systems. Her interest in writing started after taking time off to raise three children, now in their twenties. During that time she took writing courses including a two year creative writing program, grant writing and screen play writing courses as well.

Zarrella is an award-winning freelance writer who has been producing stories about people, places, and things in Southern California since 2007.  She has written for a number of news and information websites, magazines, and now writes for the Ramona Sentinel, a division of San Diego Union Tribune Community News.  Her freelance business "A Storyteller Who Can" provides support and a variety of services to small businesses, and writers or want-to-be writers of fiction and non fiction. (www.mpzarrellastorytellerwhocan.com)

People profiles are one of her favorite types of assignments.  “People fascinate me” she says.  “The world is full of amazing, talented, hard working, good hearted people.  I love to tell their stories.”

Zarrella has two sons, a daughter and daughter in law and always a number of furry four legged friends.
