Stephanie Kahle wrote her first book, My Daddy Slays Dragons, in 2008 while her husband was deployed on a strike team for 21 days to combat the wildfires that ravaged the state of California. She was at home with their two toddlers and wished for a picture book she could read to her children, explaining why their dad was gone for so long. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor degree in Sociology. She lives in Southern California with her husband, Fire Captain Ehren, their two children, Tehren and Vailyn, and a couple of sweet pups.
