Born on Vancouver Island, I was raised in central northern B.C. My family lived remotely and we had neither running water nor electricity most of my childhood. This may or may not have contributed to my loving books so much but my dad would complain that I always had a book stuck in my face…
I grew up a voracious reader, and I was inspired by authors like Louisa May Alcott, J.R.R. Tolkien, and then as I got older; Stephen King, Harper Lee, and Louise Penny. As a forty-year-old single mother of four, I earned two degrees. An Associate degree in Aboriginal Social Work and a Master’s degree in Professional Communication while working two fulltime jobs. It speaks to my tenacious spirit and my love of learning.
Today I have six children, a wonderful husband and can be found sculpting, painting, gardening, and throwing dinner parties for my friends and family. I lives on Vancouver Island with my two cats, Kitty and Mini Me. Mother May I? is my début book.
