After discharge, I attended commercial diving school, and for the next 50 years I worked as a diver on oil rigs off the coast of California, the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, and Alaska. I lived and worked in Scotland, Australia, Egypt, Hawaii, Chili, Columbia, and islands all throughout the Pacific. I currently live in Santa Barbara, California, where I am on the board of directors of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 218. And the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. I have been married for 46 years, and my wife and I enjoy cruising whenever possible.
