Victoria Toluwase Ifeolu is a Poet, Novelist, Playwright, Short Story Writer, Spoken Word Artist and Essayist. Her major works are a poetry collection and two novels, the titles of which are I Call My Sexuality My God, Memories: Kevin & Mica, and She Needn’t Kiss the Knife.
In 2011, she was nominated for the Cowbell Mathematics Prize. In 2013, she won the Mazariya Prize for Poetry, courtesy of her unpublished collection: Petals of Words. In 2014, she won the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) Essay Prize for her essay, “Youth Participation: A Catalyst for Sustained Agricultural Productivity in Nigeria”. She received an 80% score card for her spoken words titled "I Seduce Africa", at the 2014 Eko Poetry Slam, Lagos.
Her debut fantasy, Memories: Kevin & Mica was distributed to over fifteen secondary schools in a 2014 entrepreneurial conference, having been put up for sale at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. In 2015, her poem, “The True Celebrities”, was selected for publication by the Poetry Institute of Canada in The Tracery of Trees, while another poem of hers, “When I Do Not Pay Attention”, was published in Eber & Wein’s anthology, Where the Mind Dwells.
2018 climaxed with her poetry collection bagging a feature in the New York Times' "Discover New Titles" section, alongside nine other books. The following Spring, Morgan State workshopped "Call My Sexuality", the book's middle section. Additionally, The Kenya Today recommended the entire collection as an empowering read. Earlier that year, she had been shortlisted thrice for the Ad Hoc Flash Fiction Prize for penning the following pieces: “Mummy Bandage in a Mommy Trash”, “SpongeBob Says No to Splits” and “A Nosy Chill’s Nose”.
In 2020, she was declared as the Book Author of the Year by the Youths Digest Journalism Awards. In 2021, her literary works were featured in The Reader's House, London. A University of Calgary alum, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English (Literature) from the American University of Nigeria, and a Thriller MBA as the far-from-final feat.
