Mediocrity is not Bill Childs’ friend. He refuses to be pals with “good enough.” He will never be besties with “just O.K.,” And “phoning it in” is not part of his #squadlife. As a marketer and a creative, Bill believes in pushing concepts as far as they can go – then pushing them a little more. He’s also someone who thinks that good is the enemy of great. Childs is currently an Advertising Design Instructor at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute.
Before his current role, he was the creative director for The Media Arts Group, the in-house agency at The Morning Call Media Group. Before re-joining The Morning Call Media Group in 2007, he was creative director, V.P., at RM2/ Forge Marketing Communications, a full-service marketing and advertising firm based in Allentown for six years. Before that, Childs spent two years as an art director for Adams Outdoor Advertising and ten years as a graphic artist at The Morning Call. Childs is also a member emeritus of the Greater Lehigh Valley Ad Club and is on the advisory board for Northampton Community College’s Communication Design Program.
He’s written columns for Network Magazine, The Morning Call Newspaper, and Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal. He has recently taken over the hosting duties of AdYack, the AAF/Greater Lehigh Valley’s Podcast. Childs has published his first book, Childs Play, a field guide to help you reclaim and harness your creative power, and is currently working on his second book.
