Hi there, my name is W. R. Watkins, author of You. Are. Not. Alone. and the Diary Of The Heart poetry book series, and four-times semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Competition.

I have been writing since 2006 and still somehow, have managed to find topics to write about! I self-published my first anthology collection (You. Are. Not. Alone.) in July, 2014 and quickly released the first of the Diary Of The Heart books, which was entitled An Obsessive Infatuation in December of the same year.

I love creating stories with my work, something that I do not think is usually done in poetry! I approach my books as a music artist would approach the construction of a concept album. I ask myself "What story do I want to tell? How can I tell it? Can I do it in a way that will make the reader feel included?"

So, all of the poems featured in the books are not treated as "stand alone" pieces of material. They connect to and support each other, to form the basis of the story I want to tell.

And much like a music artist, I enjoy having two versions of a book. So there is a "standard edition", followed by a special edition which so far has consisted of two extended editions, and one behind the scenes edition. Again, something that I do not think is usually done in the publishing industry! It may mean more work for me, but I enjoy it all the same.
