My name is Yokairy Tavarez and I published my debut novel, The Blue Brotherhood through JimSam Publishing in Tennessee in 2010, and have recently released The Lost Highway, a novel following one woman's escape from an unknown killer.
I have also published The "This Is Everything" Collection, a compilation of short stories, Redeem Me, a romantic novel and Project: FEMME, a heart-wrenching dystopian novel of struggle and survival chronicling one woman’s meteoric rise from humiliated slave to leader of a rebellion, and follows her tragic search for her kidnapped son.
I am also set to work on several other projects, including a prequel to Project: FEMME titled "Inception."
Additionally, I plan to debut a musical next summer. "A Story for Another Time" is set in New York City and based on one of the short stories in The "This Is Everything" Collection. A huge fan of musical theatre, I have written the script, planned numbers for the show and am set to cast and rehearse for a July 2019 debut.
I am also a Paralegal and Child Custody/Visitation Mediator with a twenty-year history in the legal industry. I was born and raised in the Bronx, lived in South Florida for seven years immediately after college and currently reside again in New York with my husband, two children, 12-year old Husky and 2-month old kitten named Sarabi.
