Wow! I liked everything about this book. It incorporated the goodness of mankind at a time when we really need to hear that, and it repeatedly kept me attempting to guessing what was going to happen next. As I read the chapters in this book, I was certain I could guess exactly what would happen in the next chapter. Boy, was I wrong. Right to the last chapter, the author held my attention and surprised me. In my lifetime of reading (about 68 years) this is one the few books I just couldn't put down. There's humor mixed with mystery and payback for dastardly deeds. I've given two more of these books to friends and will purchase other books by this author. Outstanding job!!!

A fantastic and captivating read while wrapped in a blanket on a cold winter day! The author’s descriptive detail of the characters and locations is such that the reader believes he is there. You cheer the main character even when his acts are less than honorable or legal. Some details allows the reader to predict an event while other details lead to surprising results. Standing ovation to the author! I look forward to reading more of his works!

All Our Yesterdays combines fresh story telling with a nod to great popular literature of a bygone era. With a hint of Horatio Alger and unexpected turns worthy of O. Henry, the book whisks the reader along at just the right pace to a clever and surprisingly satisfying conclusion. You won't want to put this one down.

I picked this book at at the WVU bookstore because of it being a local author. I really wasn’t sure if I would read it or just end up putting in a bookshelf and forgetting it. I have to say by end of the first chapter I didn’t want to put the book down. When I was getting my nails done I was driving the tech crazy because I wasn’t paying attention to him. All that to say was it was absolutely too good to put the book down. It would be a great story for middle and high schoolers. Especially, if they have been bullied or known to be the bully)

Forest Bowman has written a fast-paced tale that is truly one of "Cunning and Grit". His detailed depiction of life in rural late 19th c. hill country brings his setting to life and his characters display the myriad traits (good and evil) common to small town populations. Through a series of unexpected twists and turns, the author reminds us that no matter what circumstances surround one's birth an individual can become whatever their talents and tenacity will allow. The ending will surprise and leave readers anticipating Forest's next foray into historical fiction.
