This series has been so great, and this last book didn't let me down. Gloria is still recovering from her attack in book 2 when a man shows up on her doorstep and announces another revelation she doesn't want to hear. Ever since Book 1 when her journalistic instincts pushed her to find out who her birth mother was, life has been crazy. She does have her Thorns though--the old women who love her and protect her...and make me laugh at their antics. Barlean's writing is a pleasure to read. Her stories are to the point, yet the character development in them is amazing. The pacing in this one kept me on my toes and the mysteries kept twisting and turning like a bowl of spaghetti noodles. I loved this Who-dun-it mystery set in the midwest. The characters are easily envisioned, the dialogue is witty and to the point. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who wants to read a well-written mystery with great characters that come to life. ***I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
