There are various stories in media, through music, video games, and books which highlight a topic that unfortunately many of us have sadly faced throughout our lives that impacts us the hardest. To take from the title of one of those games and relate it to this book—that dragon, cancer. This book is a very honest, heartfelt, but never hopeless account of the author's wife who had a difficult battle facing metastatic breast cancer, the highest of all the stages. Although this is a very emotional read, Coccari has shared with us a very personal and intimate account of his wife's fight against the disease that sadly has taken away so many of the people that we love way before their time. He does not sugarcoat the truth of what not only his wife had to face, but what the family faces as well. This is not a task that many people can face and there is no easy way to prepare for such a circumstance. The book focuses on how it affects everyone involved, giving an in-depth discussion on the toll it can take. It is a sad, but sweet and loving tribute to his wife, who was nothing less of a wonderful person, and allows for her lovely spirit to continue on by giving an honest retelling of the journey that she faced. It gives a shining beacon of light in something that is incredibly dark and will hopefully give inspiration to those that are facing it themselves. This will definitely give you some tears, but as my mom likes to call these, happy tears. It really hits your heart hard, but will inspire you.
