Relieved to evade the Vietnam War, Jack faces new challenges when his girlfriend Kara's oppressive mother tries to separate them. Seeking consolation in San Francisco, Jack finds a new purpose aiding others and forging his own path amidst the healing and pain of his emotional turmoil and personal conflicts.
Author Tim Scott has crafted a captivating journey through the
tumultuous landscape of 1970s America, utilizing every moment of nostalgia to paint a vivid portrait of Jack Higgins' quest for self-discovery and love in the face of adversity.
The emotional through-line of the work is penned with palpable
feelings thanks to the close narrative viewpoint and visceral
