Adult; Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror; (Market)

It is 2155. The story begins on Sunterria, we see the military of Gorren, third planet away attack it, forcing, its leader Freesun, to flee the planet, travelling to Ionion 4, in the Oiron 5 planetary system on the other side of the Realm. Nearby, to the Oiron 5 System, is the Earth Planetary System. Earth is uninhabitable due to massive environmental damage. Humans have colonised other planets, including Oton, which has also been trashed and is now highly toxic. Plans to relocate to another of the ten planets in the Earth Planetary System are being made. We follow those onboard the Earth Planetary ship Sunrise 5. \tCOMMANDER CONNOR, his thirteen-year-old son RYAN, Ryan’s friend EDEN, dog Dexi and scientist DR STEIN land on Perrion 7 for the monthly military cargo pick-up. The boys have been studying and are unenthusiastic to learn they might have to abandon Earth. They are about to take off when they realise Dexi isn’t with them. Returning for him, they find him with two children and a youth, whom is seriously injured. Against protocol and keeping a big secret from his dad, Ryan gets Dr Stein to help smuggle the youngsters on board. The three have been injured by laser fire. ATERA and KALIN are orphans from Ionion 4 and will be OK once Dr Stein gives them basic treatment and flies them to stay with friends of his, but RIBERA is critically injured. The Dr makes a request call for a medi-centre. Ryan pulls in a favour to obtain one from his pal Taylor. Unusually, though, Ribera is unable to be scanned by the computer. Ryan’s energy levels plummet dramatically after the vision he experiences on first meeting Ribera. This is the start of odd dreams and energy crashes for Ryan which worry his dad and Dr Stein. Dr are orphans from Ionion 4 \tThe relocation from Earth must take place in twelve months due to deteriorating air quality. Ryan and Eden go to Idaisya, where they are reunited with new friends Atera and Kalin, staying with Dion and Alsa, and find they too have been influenced by time spent with Ribera – their intelligence levels have rocketed to off the scale. They fill Ryan in on how they met Ribera and how he wanted to save them from a life of fruit-picking slavery, the three escape Ionion 4, by travelling on a deep-space cargo ship to Perrion 7, arriving, five-weeks later. Only to run into laser fire while, dis-embarking the ship. Ryan admits he illicitly visited the other beautiful planet, the similarly named Santerria. The story flashbacks to Ryan’s unauthorised visits to Santerria, via Taylor, who takes people there for large amounts of creds. \tExhausted, Ryan takes his important flight simulator test at school, but fails it. He takes an extended break during which he makes some recovery but is still desperately tired. Ribera can be kept alive in the medi-centre for eight months while they try to heal him. Atera and Kalin are given the task of working with robots to repair an Earth Planetary ship but their highly unusual skills must be kept secret. \tBack at command school, Ryan continues dreaming about Santerria and Ribera is in his dreams. He revisits Perrion 7 where he has a flashback of rescuing Ribera. Ryan’s birthday party takes place at the New World Café. Thankfully, he passes his flight exam the second time. Dr Stein discovers from log reports that Ribera came close to dying on four occasions and is anxious what effect losing Ribera would have on Ryan. Already, the Earth Supreme Council is mad that Ryan, a future commander, is not attending more than one class a week due to exhaustion. \tWeeks have gone by and Ribera only has one month left to live. Ryan takes his all-important Junior Commander exam. He passes it, as does Eden. Ryan should be elated but isn’t. He is desperate to save Ribera. Ryan reaches out to beyond the Realm to find someone who can help Ribera where the Dr has failed. He sets up a meeting with contacts Lani, Cardell and Raden, who tell him what they know. The Covenant protects the God planets such as Sunterria and the Freesuns that live on them. The Freesuns are the creators of life – a kind of god. They wear a bracelet over a symbol within three golden rings. The description matches Ribera’s. Ribera has the arm rings and symbol. He is a Freesun. The Covenant have spent seven months searching for him since he fled Sunterria. Ryan asks Cardell to take him and Eden quickly to Zandem to meet the Covenant. It is a dangerous mission and could trigger war between the Planetary Systems. \tRyan is granted special permission to land on Zandem. The Covenant Commander is overjoyed to hear his news and promises much to Ryan by way of thanks. \tRyan interrupts a Command Base meeting to find his dad and tell him everything he has kept hidden – finding a youth and two children on Perrion 7, Ribera’s critical injury, his actual identity as a Freesun.. Commander Connor is amazed but quickly takes the facts on board. The Dr joins them, and they prepare for the Covenant’s arrival. \tThe out-of-this-world Covenant starship lands and the Covenant set about healing Ribera. Cadet Ezro informs them that Kalin and Atera have more than developed intelligence since meeting Ribera – they are now hybrids and are part of the Covenant. Two cadets will be assigned to them for their own protection. A celebration is scheduled on the Covenant starship and everyone is invited. The ecological message is reinforced when the superior Covenant technology is revealed, such as the ability to travel in dimensions rather than at light speed. Instead of trashing first one planet and then another, humans could have spent their energies constructively, advancing their civilisation in more productive ways. Ribera is transferred to a medical room on the ship and his recovery starts to take place. Commander Eirden thanks everyone for saving their Freesun. In return, he awards Ryan and Eden bracelets that will make them half Covenant and he promises to clean up Earth for them, so it is habitable once again. When Ribera wakes Ryan is overjoyed and fills him in on the lengths, he went to for him. Ryan and Eden are invited to their first Council of the Golden Table on the Covenant ship. Ryan is asked to describe his visions of Sunterria, and it is explained to him that somehow, he has opened a portal to it, which was in fact what kept Ribera alive these past months. He is granted a visit to Sunterria – and future access to the planet he has come to love. Ryan vows to spend his life as the future commander protecting Earth’s environment, even if it means shaking up the Supreme Council and going against their wishes. At Ribera’s farewell party Atera and Kalin have been arguing with the highly intelligent Covenant plants on board the ship. Kalin is affronted that the plants are smarter than him. Everyone is sad to say goodbye to Ribera, but Ryan knows he will see his friend again. He also knows now that the ecological destiny of Earth is in safe hands and he can look forward with confidence to a safer future.
