I really enjoyed this sweet mystery romance. There's minimal angst and just enough of a mystery for it to feel like a Hallmark movie. And for me that's a win!! Sweet moments with sprinklings of humor and silliness make this a great light read for the summer.
It’s All Greek to Me is a cute cozy mystery. It follows the genre standards in terms of the “chatty” narration. The writing is very descriptive. There’s a lot going on with the main character. The mystery is something hanging over her head, but it is not the primary focus of much of the storyline.
Ms. Aldrich did a great job including some plot points that subtlety added to the suspense and reminded readers that the book is a mystery. The book will appeal to fans of Mary Kay Andrews’ cozy mysteries.
From questionable best friends, left-behind sorority sisters, and contractors, It’s All Greek to Me is filled with delightful characters. The storyline alludes to the main character’s previous snobby attitude as a trust fund baby, but I didn’t see that in the character. Life is hitting her with punch after punch, but she takes it in chin and keeps on swinging. There were plenty of characters to like and dislike. Each one added greatly to the storyline.
It’s All Greek to Me is a quick, fun read, and it has an intriguing ending that could easily segue into a sequel (not a cliff hanger)! Ms. Aldrich’s debut novel is a delight, and I look forward to reading more from the author.
