Immediately, Hasina makes the reader feel welcomed into her life. It's easy to build a rapport with her words and story, and you just can't help but devour the words she's presenting to us. Her story is definitely intriguing and easily captivating, bolstered by the friendly and warm tone she uses, that you can't help but listen avidly for hours. Her tone brings out this odd desire to make sure she is alright, and that things worked out for her because they seemed so grim at the start.

I enjoyed it thoroughly! A very well written book. It evokes deep emotions. Although I don't have a similar experience, there are instances throughout the book that I can identify feelings that reflects my own. The bravery of the author to invite readers to delve into her vulnerability is very admirable...job well done Hasina!

She invites the readers to see things from a different perspective but also invited the readers to look upon their own past and reflect upon it. Throughout the narrative, the author consistently demonstrates emotional intelligence and empathy. She adeptly places herself in the shoes of her family members, extending grace to them for their behaviors, and openly acknowledges her own shortcomings. The author's ability to capture the complexities of human relationships with such insight contributes to the overall richness of the narrative.

This is a beautiful memoir put together by the author herself. Hasina has articulated her life anecdotes in a quite heartfelt manner that allows you to stand in her shoes and visualise what it would've felt to live her life. That alone is one significant sign of someone who has an impeccable talent for capturing reality into words on paper or screen. I find her to be a woman of resilience and ambition. Not only her life but the reflections and contemplations she penned down are incredibly profound. Hasina's autobiography isn't only special because of the circumstances she faced, but because of her response to them. My favourite thing about this book is that she decided to pen down the feelings and reflections she found hard to express verbally to allow her loved ones to look at things from her perspective and understand her better through writing.

The book took a great start. I was immediately invested in the story. The journey of the author is truly inspiring, and heartbreaking at the same time. The challenges she faced in her childhood were brutal which no child deserves. The chapter "Searching for Birth Parents" destroyed me. It is so heartwarming to read this amazing story of overcoming challenges and making yourself the best version of yourself. More power to you!!

Reading this book felt like I was listening to a friend. The writing style was really simple and easy to understand yet evocative as it brought to my mind images of Hasina's home and toys and made me feel her joy, sadness, exhaustion and hope. It was so intriguing that I was unable to put it down. I absolutely loved Hasina's childhood pictures. They were brimming with innocence and really made me feel for her. Her journey is an epitome of the resilient nature of humans. Hasina deserves so much appreciation for sharing her story with the world. I'm in awe of how she overcame these difficulties and made peace with herself by embracing her identity and past. Her story is inspiring and deserves to be read.

It's hard to imagine what it feels like not to know who your parents are, and not even having a link knowing an extended family member. As if she were evolved, not knowing to whom she belongs or whom she should look up to.

Hasina Knox explained her story very well in her autobiography "Longing to Belong." It's the story of a little Bangladeshi girl who was abandoned by her mother in Bangladesh and was adopted by a Canadian Caucasian couple. We've all heard of stories where the ending is orphans being adopted by loving parents and living happily ever after. Well, Hasina's story (is different and) begins after she was adopted at three years old and right through into adulthood.

I've always felt it takes a true storyteller to captivate your interest without the use of profanity, extreme violence or sexual content. In my opinion, you do not need any of these to tell a good story. Hasina's autobiography is honest, heartfelt, and clean and leaves you to form your own opinion. In the end, it leaves you wondering whether her adoptive parents loved her or not. It gives evidence to support both sides. It is a good topic for readers to analyze as a group.

"Longing to Belong" penned by Hasina Knox is a poignant memoir that explores the innate human yearning for connection and a sense of belonging. Through personal anecdotes, Hasina unfolds her life's path, unveiling relatable challenges and the capacity to overcome adversity. Her tenacity and authenticity shine as she gracefully maneuvers through life's highs and lows with cleverness and a light-hearted touch. The narrative is brought to life with vivid imagery, adding layers to her storytelling.

In this profoundly stirring narrative, Hasina, a foreign-born orphan, pursues the elusive feeling of belonging that has eluded her throughout her existence. The touching exploration of her experiences pulls at the heartstrings, making it a compelling read for anyone who values stories of overcoming obstacles and resilience. Secure your digital copy of "Longing to Belong: An Orphan's Story" and embark on a journey filled with tears, laughter, and triumph. We are all interconnected on this voyage through life, and Hasina’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent strength within each of us.

I liked the idea of how each chapter begins with a profound and beautiful quote which actually sets the tone of the chapter. Although the story is compelling and hooks a reader soon after the first chapter but what marvelled me is Hasina's intelligence in engaging her readers by frequently asking a question and making sure the readers ponder and reflect upon her situations. I congratulate Hasina on penning down her unique story and celebrating it with the world. I am sure her story would rejuvenate love, courage and hope among many who need it the most!
