Having been around for the Cold War era, I was surprised just how cold it really wasn't and how close it came to getting warmed up. Having a son in the US Navy, the sections about "real life" in the service sounded familiar in tone if not in content. Having met Bruce personally, his love for his wife and family is truly a center of his life. It is easy to read and has a "homey" tone missing in so many technical and scary stories of the wars in recent times. A wonderful read!
