When Charley Austin Marches to the Wrong Beat, Life Gets Ugly

Against a backdrop of societal upheaval, Road to Nineveh continues the story of Charley Austin (introduced in Book 3, The Snare) as he, like a modern-day Jonah, faces the harsh consequences of turning away from God’s purpose for his life and succumbs to pride and lust.

Five Stars.
Road to Nineveh is a work of fiction penned by author Charles Besondy in the Christian, thriller, and psychological drama genres.

It is suitable for the general adult reading audience. The plot follows twenty-year-old Charley Austin, star drummer and lyricist for the Christian rock band DelivRus, as he grapples with his faith and purpose amidst the sinister schemes of Lucky Zebul. Against a backdrop of societal upheaval, Charley faces the consequences of turning away from God's purpose and succumbing to pride and lust. As he performs onstage, igniting hope and faith, off-stage his soul is systematically smothered by darkness.

Author Charles Besondy has crafted a gripping tale of redemption and faith, exploring themes of love, forgiveness, and spiritual awakening.

The confident narrative structure expertly delves into the complexities of faith and redemption within a naturalistic conversation style, weaving together a story that feels credible.

Charley's journey, fraught with struggles and temptations, felt incredibly real and relatable, drawing me into his world and evoking a range of emotions with some very inviting dialogue that helped me read between the lines.

The character development was exceptional, with each member of the ensemble cast contributing to the rich tapestry of the story and adding new layers of complexity. Besondy's prose is both evocative and powerful, capturing the essence of spiritual turmoil and ultimate redemption.

Overall, Road to Nineveh is a compelling addition to The Lighthouse series, offering a thought-provoking exploration of faith and the human spirit that I would recommend to readers of Christian fiction everywhere.
