Great read for old and young readers, I could not put the book down. The characters are new and exciting, but the Jesin are such a rarity.
I had to laugh out loud at their demeanor. I would recommend this book for its entertainment and novelty.
I am waiting for future books and will certainly buy the next installments.
I will be waiting for them.
I will give this book a 5 star, as it is hard to get a chuckle out of me, and this book does that with the Jesin.
Reading this book, you get a sense that the author is interested in many things. Within you will find royal political intrique, sci-fi adventure, steampunk inventions, and even a little bit of romance with a quick dash of horror. Oh, and there's some comedic moments with one of the author's creations, the Jesin, a race of know-it-all fox-like creatures who really steal the scene whenever they're around.
To be honest, the book starts a little slow due to all of the world-building the author does to set everything up, which is fine if you like getting into all of those details, but I wanted it to pick up after a while, which it fortunately did and before I knew it I was done and wanted the adventure to continue.
Due to all of the styles in the book, I would say this would be of interest for teens and older, just like most classic fantasy. I'm looking forward to the next volume.
