One ordinary December day becomes a magical afternoon for young Matthew whose passion is watching trains from his dining room window. When his mother is not able to fulfill his request to make a gingerbread train , he gets a bigger surprise when he sees a small train covered in gingerbread and candy pass by his house. No one believes Matthew, nor sees the train. Is he imagining the train, or is it real? The magical train makes a few more appearances before disappearing. On Christmas day, Matthew sees a replica of a gingerbread train sprawled across the fireplace mantel with a card that reads, "Merry Christmas, Matthew! Love, Santa
