A science-based, road trip adventure in which a hard-luck pool hustler is caught up in a dangerous fight for control of a mysterious scientific discovery. As the story opens, our hero Jake Barrows is deep in debt and his wife just left him. It’s beginning to dawn on him that, at thirty-two, he’s a little old to continue on in his aimless life in Miami. He lands a job as an escort driver for a trucker hauling an oversized load to Tucson. Things go smoothly at first until, along a lonely stretch of the I-10 in Texas, guns start blazing. Someone is trying to hijack the cargo. Besides that, the cargo is starting to exhibit strange and dangerous properties. Jake tries to chase down the truth. Over hundreds of miles he’s drawn deeper into a desperate conflict and ever close to a scientist whose momentous project has spun wildly out of control. The world is about to change, and Jake Barrows is about to become, The Scientist’s Accomplice.
