The Silent Are Rising
Jordan Noeding, author
A daughter is brought into this world by the hands of a power not seen in the empire in over two hundred years. A girl with white irises, flickering with flashes of grey and power over the Dead creatures from the land of Mortuusva. With terrifying potential, she is raised within the Empire’s elite military organization, the hundrazon, as no more than a weapon.
Twenty-five years later, the girl has grown into a woman of legend. Her past horrors used to make her obey the man who is her head hundrazon and her father. Malishca Vevtear’s name is whispered throughout the populace like a monster waiting in the shadows. As the discontented citizens threaten to tear the empire apart in revolution, the hundrazon tighten their grip on power.
The inherited titles of the emperor and senators are corroding with each passing generation. No longer is the empire’s prosperity felt throughout and now the silent are rising. A boy born into an old ruling family is woken to the sound of gunfire. He flees his family’s home under the threat of arrest and execution for leading a rebellion he is not part of.
Across the ocean, in the far off colonies a girl is driven from her home by an army not from the living world. In a battle for survival she faces the desert and uncertainty. She is unremarkable, except for her eyes.
Lives are twisted together in a setting of revolution against tyranny. The question is, who’s tyranny and who’s revolution?
