This book by Ellen Plotkin Mulholland is charming. I originally intended to have my daughter read it, as it is a coming of age novel written from the point of a view of a 13 year old, but in reading in, I found memories of being 13 years of age in the 1970's come flooding back to me. There were so many questions in my mind at that time - what kind of person will I be? What matters to me? What about the great mysteries of death - and love? Mulholland brings characters to life you wish were part of your early teen coterie of friends. A delightful read, with depth.
What a wonderful story. Ellen's voice is captivating!
I highly recommend this book to anyone. I got it for my daughter but kept it for myself. It's a must have.
