Andrew Graham Bonar was born in 1933 and went to school in Scotland. Following two years’ national service, during which he was trained as a Russian
interpreter, he attended London University and subsequently Edinburgh University, and some years later, in 1968, joined the British Council and was sent on assignments to several overseas countries including the Soviet
Union. Before being posted to Moscow, however, he had already made four visits to the Soviet Union, of which the first three form the subject of this series of six
e-books entitled: Memories of the Soviet Union 1957, 1959/60, 1968.
