Carol Crowson DeVille, a native of Louisiana, grew up on Air Force bases during the Cold War. She was the oldest child in a large family that often discussed history, politics, and religion around the supper table. Her interest in these topics led her to join the League of Women Voters in 1980, and she has been elected to offices at the local, state, and national levels in LWV. Since retiring from the math faculty at Louisiana Tech University, she has had more time to research and write about the post-war period 1919-1927 which she feels has been neglected in most history books. She is married to Terrel DeVille, a true Cajun, who is the inspiration for Teophile Landry, the main character in her series of books (The Delta Series) that explores this period.
