Cyrus Kayvan was born into a military family in Iran, and in 1988 emigrated to France, where he studied, French literature, and the philosophers of the age of enlightenment at the Faculty of Literature, Art & Sciences in Nice.
Although he had a successful real estate career, he left the picturesque Cote D’Azur, behind, and moved to the US to develop his artistic potential. He taught himself English and studied, world history, political science, English literature, the American Revolution, and WWII.
Kayvan has made three movies. The first, which was confiscated by the Islamic régime, was a comedy based on Oliver Twist, made in Iran when he was 13. The second was a romantic drama, shot in Los Angeles in 1999, and the third (below) was a Sc-ifi based on climate change, shot in the Mojave dessert in 2008. During this time, he also wrote two screenplays, one on the reincarnation of an ancient anti-conformist philosopher, and the second about a metal band in San Francisco.
In 2010, he embarked on an epic book series as a full-time writer, while simultaneously writing two works of nonfiction: Political Virtue (a constitutional dissertation) and The Exclusionists (the dark side of Hollywood).
