Dale Hueppchen (pronounced Hip’-kin) has been an active writer and visual artist for more than forty years.
After graduating from Rice University, Dale pursued careers as a fine arts photographer and photography teacher (the seventies and eighties, in Falls Church, Virginia) and an oil painter (after moving to Maine in 1987). In 2008, Dale began work on a novel to encompass his wide-ranging life experience⎯his well-traveled past, his art making, and his writing on the deepest roots of creativity.
The Kid’s Last American Adventure is this recently-published novel. It’s an adventure-filled road trip tale featuring artist Adam (aka the Kid) and his novelist pal Noah. As they travel, wordplay-friendly Noah works on a fictional version of the trip⎯a tribute to his friend, who has terminal cancer.
Adam is a highly autobiographical character. So, for a deeper insight into Dale’s past, read the novel.
