I've been called "edgy" and "smart." I'm not sure that's the best description... stubborn and tenacious might be more like it. I'd say I have a no-nonsense approach to living based on my personal backdrop, education, and professional career. As a practicing physician of two decades, I've learned keeping it 'simple' and 'real', no matter what the life topic, is the best approach. Think about it, if we want our lives to be easy, doesn't "simple' and 'real' make the most sense? I know for me, once I got there, I learned how to truly change my life for the best (which is always better than for the worse). I sincerely want you, the reader, to find the best you by reading it as I found the best me in writing it.
At one point, I couldn't find a self-help book that I hadn't read or sifted through. Yet, despite my reading, I just didn't get the answers I needed to make a real change through making different choices. I needed a "how to guide" rather than cotton-candy explanations for my issues. The more I "got real" with myself the better I found myself becoming. Somewhere between (very) expensive therapy and multiple bookstores, a gym membership and a box of Oreo's, I finally had had enough! Me and my life were getting worse. I had no other option, I had to say to myself, 'Okay, no BS Drew, You Have To Be Real!"
In doing so, I ultimately came to the realization that both health and contentment are heavily influenced by the choices we make and, choice, a direct consequence of our thoughts. My book is straightforward really, a unhealthy thought, unhealthy choice followed by healthier thought, healthier choice. Quick, simple and easy to read, however, don't be fooled......harder to live (but well worth the daily effort).
I hope to save you from wasting the amount of time I did in finding the right answer; in focusing less on the "whys" and more on the "hows" that will get yourself and your life exactly where you want them to be. Regardless of whether you are wanting to improve your health, your relationships, your finances, your weight, your anxiety or depression, or even your addiction...in short, your value, this book will speak to you.
Welcome to the most important journey you can take, living your value one choice at a time.
