Dr. Samuel White, III is a native of Rochester New York and the son of the late Samuel White II and Anna White. Dr. White graduated with honors from Brockport State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. He went on to graduate from Harvard Divinity School with a Masters of Theological Studies degree and a Masters of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He completed his educational pursuits by achieving a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Drew University. He has been adjunct professor at the Ecumenical Theological School, Mary Grove College and William Tyndale College. Dr. White has been the recipient of numerous civic and religious awards. He was awarded Minister of the Year Award, The Rev. Charles Hill Award from the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention and The Presidents? Award from the Progressive Baptist Convention. Dr. White served as the President of the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention. He is currently the senior Pastor of the historic Friendship Baptist Church in Detroit Michigan. He is a pastor, preacher, teacher, spiritual consultant, leadership trainer, grief counselor, and writer and happily married to the former Sandra Wilson and they are blessed with two children Alexandria and Samuel IV. Dr. White has published, It is Well with my Soul: Spiritual Care for the Dying, My Brother?s Keeper: Church Ministry for Young African American Males, Dying in Peace: Preparing for Eternity, and No More Tears: Comfort for the Grieving.
