Ellen Morris Prewitt is an award-winning author who loves writing about the American South. Her stories have been twice nominated for Pushcart Prizes and once received a Pushcart Special Mention. Her work appears frequently in literary journals, including Gulf Coast Literary Review, Image, Southern Women’s Review, Arkansas Review, EAP:the Magazine, and Memphis Magazine, winner of its annual short fiction contest. She was a regular contributor of sassy women’s essays to Detroit’s Strut! Magazine, and a Public Radio Commentator on WKNO, Memphis’s NPR station. The stories in her collection CAIN’T DO NOTHING WITH LOVE, winner of the 2014 CIPA EVYY Award in Audio Book, have been downloaded over 50,000 times worldwide. Ellen lives in Memphis and New Orleans. She has been known to appear in public in costume. She rides the train.
