About the Author:
Ms. Paino has always been a natural-born storyteller and loves encouraging children to flights of imagination. One of her favorite quotes, attributed to Albert Einstein, is "if you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales." Whether or not he said it, one thing is certain, and Ms. Paino agrees; a creative imagination is an essential part of the intellect, and fairy tales stimulate the developing mind.
Her first children's story, Ivan's Double Life, won first place in California's Foster City Writers' Contest and her first young children's book, Mama's Little Lady, A Special Pony, received a Purple Dragonfly award.
In her second children's book, The Magic Door, Ms. Paino takes young readers on a journey through their grandmother's closet and into a magical world of strange creatures where they learn valuable lessons of life and togetherness.
A native New Yorker, Ms. Paino, now resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband and her cat, Miss Millie. She loves melding the cultures of her two cities, New York, and Austin.
