Born to a family of artist in 1942, Gil’s family nurtured his imagination throughout his early years. Creative positions were awarded him throughout his life; such as Reporter for the Military News Paper Stars and Stripes, National Advertising Production Manager, a twenty-five year career as a Restaurant Designer, Official Portrait Artist for the 2003/04 Western Conference Basketball Champions Sacramento Kings, and his artworks chosen to hang at the 2000 California State Fair.
Throughout Gil’s life, he exercised his mind by mentally describing scenes and individuals that passed before my eyes. This is evident in his descriptive ability to pull you, the reader into a scene.
In 2009 he set his paint brushes aside to write A Walk Back Home, a true but humorous story of a child artist growing up in the heart of 1940s south central Los Angeles.
