Born a New Yorker, in his 20’s Glenn left the Big Apple to try his luck at entrepreneurship in Puerto Rico. During the 4 decades he spent on the island he learned to sail, was a stand-up comedian and, after a 20 year struggle sold his business to explore the seas in his own sailboat.
A non-sailor until his 1985 marriage to present wife Gale, Glenn learned to sail, as he says in his book The Accidental Captain, "By Trial and Terror". A process that continued all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.
Glenn and Gale now live in a small house into the jungle-like community of Coconut Grove, Florida. Their CSY 50 Sailboat "Encore" is at a nearby marina . Glenn now spends his days playing tennis, riding 1963 BMW motorcycle he restored, working with community organizations and awaiting visits from his 6 grandchildren.
