Gloria Shell Mitchell, AKA Davida Kincaid in The Garbage Man’s Daughter Series, is a minister, educator, divorce researcher and radio talk show host for Good News for You on wilkinsradio.com and rmcgospel.com.
Since her first published piece, a letter to the editor of Ebony Magazine at age 12, her articles have been published in Literary Landscapes, Event Magazine, gospelroads.com, patch.com, Bukisa.com. Her article “The Importance of Grace in Compassionately Addressing Divorce” was published in Testamentum Imperium An International Theological Journal. In addition to her published dissertation Compassionately Addressing Divorce: A Redemptive Model of Ministry to Divorced Christian Leaders, she has authored four self-published books in The Garbage Man’s Daughter Series: Letting Go of Shame (Book 1); Letting Go of SECRETS (Book 2); Letting Go of STRESS (Book 3); Letting Go of SCARS (Book 4). She is currently writing Kiss Shame Goodbye, a memoir about Davida’s tumultuous marriage to her high school sweetheart.
Although written from a child’s perspective, The Garbage Man’s Daughter Series is based on years of research and the author’s personal experience as a teacher, child of divorce, a divorced parent, and the facilitator of divorce support groups. My Knotty Decision, her newest release, is written from a teen’s perspective.
Gloria has two daughters, Richette and Joy, and lives in Southern California.
