Dr. Hazel Denhart is a master teacher, academic researcher, and storyteller who developed the Universal Grammar of Story at Portland State University in the 1990s. She has dedicated her career to researching and refining "The Grammar" while teaching it at universities and among writing groups across the US, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Denhart is known for her energetic, entertaining, awe-inspiring, and often shockingly effective seminars characterized by abundant humor. She has a background in print/television journalism and playwrighting/screenwriting in addition to her life in scholarly research where she is highly cited for seminal studies in distinct fields. She enjoys biking, hiking, horse riding, and cooking way too much Louisiana cuisine.
