After Pearl Harbor, Jack McClellan volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Corps, served four years in England, France and Germany then used the G. I. Bill to earn a masters and a doctorate degree in education at the University of Southern California where he was an adjunct professor. He was a teacher, supervisor and assistant superintendent in the Los Angeles Unified School District. He authored numerous teaching and educational materials for such publishers as IBM and Houghlin Mifflin. He enjoys traveling, gardening and is an avid stamp collector.
